Discursive conditioning of the lexical semantics of the terms (on the material of modern urological terminology)

The dissertation is devoted to a comprehensive study of Ukrainian urological terminology as a system of discursively conditioned linguistic units functioning within modern medical discourse. Contemporary linguistics develops within the anthropocentric paradigm, in which language is viewed as a reflection of cognitive, communicative, and sociocultural human activity.
Chapter 1 substantiates the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of urological terms in discursive practices, clarifies the concept of a term, determines its correlation with general vocabulary, and characterizes medical discourse and its structural components. Chapter 2 traces the history of the formation of Ukrainian urological terminology and outlines the main stages of its development, as well as analyses lexicographic sources. Chapter 3 examines the lexical-semantic organization of urological terminology, including thematic classification, hypernym-hyponym relations, synonymy, and antonymy. Chapter 4 characterizes the structural and word-formation features of urological terms, including synthetic and analytical models and the structure of multi-component terms.
