Development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine in the conditions of economic transformations

Abstract

The dissertation develops theoretical and methodological provisions, practical recommendations, and concepts for the development of the agricultural sector of Ukraine.
The dissertation elaborates theoretical and methodological provisions, practical recommendations, and conceptual approaches to the development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector.In the first chapter «Theoretical and Methodological Basis of the Functioning of the Agricultural Sector in the Conditions of Economic Transformations» it has been established that the high dependence of the agricultural sector on natural and climatic conditions imposes additional requirements for ensuring its development, especially in the context of the war in Ukraine.
In the second chapter «Structural and Dynamic Assessment of Ukraine’s Agricultural Sector» it has been proven that Ukraine’s agricultural sector, as one of the key elements of the national economy, has suffered significant shocks following the outbreak of war on February 22, 2022. The agricultural sector of Ukraine is undergoing a severe crisis caused by the war. However, despite all challenges, the industry demonstrates resilience and adaptability, maintaining strategic importance for the economy and food security of not only Ukraine but also the world.
In the third chapter «Systematic Sustainable Development of Ukraine’s Agricultural Sector in the Conditions of Transformation» it has been demonstrated that the «support points» for the systemic development of the agricultural sector include the functioning of peasant (farm) enterprises, autonomously functioning agricultural organizations, and integrated agro-industrial formations.
