Determinants of Ukraine's economic security in conditions of institutional changes

Abstract

In the dissertation, the theoretical and methodological foundations for ensuring economic security under conditions of institutional changes were developed, determinants of economic security were identified, and a decision-support model in the context of digitalization was constructed.
In the first chapter, «Transformation of the Theory and Methodology of State Economic Security in the Modern Stage of Development» it was established that "economic security" refers to the state of a nation's socio-economic system that guarantees the protection of national-state interests against internal and external threats to development sustainability.
In the second chapter, «Structural-Dynamic Characteristics of the State of Ukraine’s Economic Security» it was shown that in the early years of independence, Ukraine had significant development potential due to its natural resources and infrastructure. However, the economic decline became one of the most severe among post-Soviet countries, further exacerbated by the war since 2022.
In the third chapter, «Determinants of Institutional Support for Ukraine’s Economic Security» a definition of economic security is proposed: economic security refers to a state's ability to recover from internal or external impacts, maintain its status for as long as desired, and enhance its condition in response to positive influences on its determinants (e.g., food, social, technological, information, energy, financial, administrative, and natural resources, among others).
