Overcoming the economic problems of labor migration in Ukraine in the post-war period

The dissertation advances the theoretical and methodological foundations of labour migration research and develops a mechanism for mitigating the adverse effects of labour migration in Ukraine during the post-war recovery period.
Chapter 1 “Theoretical and Methodological Foundations of Labour Migration Research” examines theoretical approaches to defining labour migration, identifies its determinants and their manifestations under wartime conditions, and analyses population migration motives as a basis for understanding migration decisions and the economic risks associated with them.
Chapter 2 “Analytical Study of Labour Migration in Ukraine under Martial Law” analyses changes in Ukraine’s public policy and legislation governing labour migration during martial law, examines trends in labour migration indicators, and assesses the economic consequences of labour migration and their impact on key economic indicators.
Chapter 3 “Developing a Mechanism for Mitigating the Adverse Effects of Labour Migration in Ukraine during the Post-War Period” proposes conceptual approaches to developing such a mechanism, substantiates measures to encourage the return of labour migrants and retain the domestic workforce for post-war economic recovery, and identifies approaches to formulating economic stabilisation policy as a prerequisite for attracting labour inflows and enhancing Ukraine’s investment attractiveness.
